How do I view and purchase the AR-DRG and ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification system products?

To purchase the AR-DRG and ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification system products, you will need to register an account. Depending on the type of account you register and the country of residence, will determine what products you are able to browse and purchase.
Why can I not view some of the editions/versions of the products?
You can only view editions/versions of the products that are licensed by your country. Please visit IHACPA’s website for a full list of licensed countries and their licensed version/edition.
Is errata included with publications when shipped?
Errata may be issued to correct typographical issues that have been identified since the time of publishing. These errata are not incorporated into the published books or included with orders – users are required to incorporate these when using the relevant manuals. Errata is available from the IHACPA website and you can also subscribe to receive errata updates.
Do you offer student discounts?
Discounted prices are offered to students who pay for their own education to ease financial hardship.
To be eligible, you must be a student currently studying a recognised coding or health information management course either on-site or via long-distance learning.
To access student discounted prices, you will need to register a Student Account and be able to provide your course name, institution you are currently studying at and your student ID or enrolment number.
Please note that student discounts is only applicable to the following products:

I have previously created a Professional account but I’m now about to start a course. How do I submit a student request?
If you have already created an account you can submit a Student Request at any time.
- Log-in to your account and you will see a message at the top of the Products page.
- Click the link in the message to go to the My Account page.
- Click the “Send Student Request” button under the heading “Change to Student Account”.
- Complete and submit the Student Request form which will be sent to Classification Licensing at the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) for review/approval.
- Once we receive approval from IHACPA we will notify you by email.
- Access to the student discounted products will be added to your account prior to you being notified.

I’m a student, but work is paying for my study and my books, can I still receive a student discount?
Training and educational institutions, and students whose course resources are paid for by their place of employment, are not eligible for Student Discounts.
Students who are being compensated for their study, or whose place of employment is paying for their educational resources can purchase products at their nominal price by registering a Professional Account.
I received the product I ordered but it is damaged/not what I wanted. What can I do?
If the product you purchased arrived damaged or faulty, or the products you purchased are not what you wanted, you may be eligible for a refund or exchange.

How do I pay for the products?
You can pay by credit card or direct bank transfer (no up-front payment required) at the time of proceeding to checkout.
Please note: Orders will not be shipped where the direct bank transfer payment method is selected until the funds have cleared into our account.
I want to register for an account but my country is not listed on the account registration form. What should I do?
Please visit IHACPA’s website for a full list of licensed countries and their licensed version/edition.
If you are a student outside a licensed country but enrolled, or seeking to enrol, in a recognised course relating to the AR-DRG and ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification systems, through long-distance education and must purchase the books or other products for your study, contact IHACPA.
If you are a software developer outside the licensed country seeking to develop software for the AR-DRG and ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification systems by purchasing the Electronic Code Lists (ECLs), you must first enter into a Software Development Licence Agreement before you can register for an ECL account.

I am a researcher, and I want to obtain the AR-DRG and ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification systems products for research. Do I need to pay for the products?
If you are a researcher seeking to obtain the AR-DRG and ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification system products for research or academic purpose, you are eligible to receive the code lists/ECLs free of charge. However, books purchased will be at their nominal price.
You will need to apply for a research ECL here.
If you are from a non licenced country, please contact IHACPA regarding the purpose of your research.
All approved researchers must sign a Deed of Confidentiality.
I am from a charitable/not-for-profit organisation. Do I need to pay for the products?
If you are from a charitable/not-for-profit organisation, you are entitled to receive the code lists/ECLs free of charge. However, books purchased will be at their nominal price.
You will need to apply for a Business/Organisation/Charity ECL here.
Your organisation must be registered under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and provide IHACPA with your ABN for verification.
I work for an Australian state government. Do I need to pay for the products?
ECL products can be provided to Australian Government state and federal entities to undertake mandatory reporting to state and national government databases at no cost. This includes the ICD-10-AM and ACHI code lists and mapping files. However, books purchased will be at their nominal price

I have an existing Student or ECL account but I don’t see the latest edition listed. Why is this and what should I do?
Student accounts are granted access up to and including the latest edition of the ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS – 5 volume book set (available to your region) at the time your student request is approved by IHACPA. When a later edition is released a new student request must be submitted and approved before these publications can be added to your account.

ECL accounts are granted access to ECL products specified in your Licence Agreement or Licence Application. When a later edition is released a new Licence Agreement or Licence Application must be submitted and approved before these products can be added to your account.
- Log-in to your account and you will see a message at the top of the Products page.
- Click the link in the message to go to the My Account page.
- Click the “View Options” button under the heading “Change to ECL Account”.
- On the “ECL Licence types” page select the Licence type that corresponds to the purpose of the ECL usage that is most applicable to you.
- Complete and submit the Licence Agreement / Application and follow the instructions provided.
